The making of the Real OG’s
happened in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s in Central Florida. The Real OG’s worked to bring the world good cannabis, they worked with pollen, flowers, and cuts as well as with other local guerrilla growers. Everyone was doing their part producing and a few were working on breeding the cannabis, and developing some of the early cannabis strains including the famous Skunk and Triangle Kush. Florida produced a lot of good weed before the Internet. There were growers all over the State plopping seeds from all around the world. It was a magical time. History of the “Triangle” Kush . . .
You can see the triangle on the map! This is exactly why we called it Triangle Kush!
We started it all here, in Citrus County, nestled on the west coast of Florida, the area is known for its crystal-clear springs, lush nature preserves, and the 7 enchanting Rivers. The “Triangle” is the outline of highways between Tampa, Orlando, and Wildwood”. Here is where the “Triangle Kush” weed was born and where it came from, Here is where the guerilla growers were working on early strains with landrace, local weed, bag seed, and cuts that were passed around. There was so much weed coming out of that area in the 1980’s that the Governor called in the Air National Guard, the State Police, and all the County Sheriffs to help eradicate it from the area. Triangle Kush and Skunk were here to stay and likely came from Citrus, Levy, or Sumter County by the local breeders. This was the heart of early US cannabis development.
Triangle Kush
It’s funny. There are lots of stories. This one from Google: One of those Hindu kush plants hermaphrodited and pollinated the room of Emerald Triangle plants. The resulting seeds went on to play a significant role in shaping the landscape of cannabis genetics in the United States. One of the seeds eventually became Triangle Kush while another became the OG Kush.
